Tony Huang, pianist

Tony Huang is a 15-year-old pianist from Ottawa who has been studying piano for approximately ten years, including eight years with Patricia Wang, whose patience and skillful guidance have helped him develop his musical understanding and expressive playing. He is currently completing Level 10 of The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) piano program.

Tony has performed at the Ottawa Kiwanis Musical Festival, the Ottawa Piano Festival, and the Ontario Music Festivals Association (OMFA) Provincial Finals. He received an Honourable Mention at the provincial finals in both 2024 and 2026, and qualified for the competition again in 2025.

For Tony, piano is about more than mastering notes. He enjoys discovering how phrasing and musical feeling can bring a piece to life, and finds real joy in those moments when his hard work pays off and he can hear the music coming together.

Away from the piano, Tony enjoys going to the gym, skiing, snowboarding, and playing volleyball. He also has a distinctive, fashion-forward personal style that reflects his individuality. Bringing his own personality to the world of classical music, Tony represents a new generation of young musicians who are pursuing their artistic ambitions while staying true to themselves.
