Allyson Rogers is a professional musician and Postdoctoral Fellow in the music department at Carleton University. Rogers studied jazz performance (drums) at McEwan University, classical percussion (snare, marimba, timpani) at the University of Alberta, and holds a PhD in Communication Studies from McGill University. She has played and recorded with artists in a range of genres, including folk, rock, funk, jazz, and classical, and served as a band clinician, adjudicator, and project manager for a variety of music organizations, including The Banff Centre and National Arts Centre. She is also a published scholar, writing on the intersection of music, media, and politics in the Canadian context.
